On Sunday, July 25, 2010 from 1 to 4 at the Reno VFD social hall we will be
celebrating Wayne L. Bickel's life. Wayne was a former Chief and active member
of our department who passed away July 5. Everyone who knew Wayne is welcome
to come, meet his family, look at pictures, tell stories, have some food and
refreshments, and remember his life.

The 33rd Annual PA EMS Conference will be offering the Advanced Burn Life
Support (ABLS) program as a pre-conference session on September 16, 2010
from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. This is an 8-hour course designed for EMTs, Paramedics,
physicians, nurses, and other emergency responders to provide them with guidelines
in the assessment and management of the burn patient during the first 24 hours post-injury.
This course will involved a series of lectures, case studies, and hands-on practical
evaluations on simulated burn patients.

ALS providers will receive 7.5 hours of medical/trauma credits, while BLS providers
will receive 6.5 hours. Lunch and course materials are included with your registration fee.

Space is limited, so register early for this program and the Annual Conference
at www.pehsc.org. The Annual Conference will be held at the Lancaster County
Convention Center/Marriott from September 17-18, 2010 (Pre-conference sessions
on September 15-16).
